Default Dartford Toll

Anyone had experience of this, I logged on last night but could not make sense of it so gave up tried again tonight, same thing, so after checking that 03 numbers from my mobile on o2 are within my allowance, rang them now I do not want to register, nor pay online with a card so opted for payzone, but nowhere did I find a reference to the crossing, after talking to the guy on the phone seems I can walk into a shop with payzone and say dartford crossing give my reg number and how much I want to pay, simple if only there had been some reference to the ability to do this on the site, all I want now is to be slapped with two £70 penalty charges for not paying by midnight last night, cos they have no hope, Rick

aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

Feckwits the lot of them. I paid £10 to register and go through the pipe/bridge once return. Because the account goes below £10, they take another £10 so the account is always above £10,that's their policy....apparently. So I have £16.26 doing f'all , except earning interest for them !

Dartford Troll more like it.
I just paid for rick and there computer didnt want to know.
I called their customer service centre, explained that we were a little late with the payment because of their computerized payment system and i got the impression that they had no idea of the vehicle going under and over the Thames courtesy of the engineering that was paid for within the first three years of the bridge being built.

my advice is dont pay these clowns, not until they come chasing

Only been through that way once and that was by coach so wouldn't know what to do.

I hate these dam automated systems of face less organisations who just don't give a monkeys. I like your idea Rick.

Question Dartford payment was simple did not use the registration option.

When we went to France with the Jeep in July it was simple I went on my home PC entered the vehicle details and paid the £5.00 fee for the day rate the day before we went.

Did not pay a registration fee as we only do it 2 or 3 times a year just as a one off payment.

I just set up a online account, you can add as many cars on it as you like, so i got mine, wife, son and mum and dads car so no-one has to worry about paying, the account tops up automatically and you get the crossings at a discounted rate as its prepaid, just checked and you get it for £1.67

if you don't want an account you can easily pay online, but as you pay after the crossing you pay a little more

As I rarely use the crossing I did not want an account, as for paying on line I am careful who I give my debit card details to, and I would not be giving it to this crowd, so payzone is what I opted for, great they tell me my local payzone shops but I expected to be asked for my reg and then given a code or something that I could then present to the shop, I had no inkling that all of this can be sorted at the shop, I had no idea that they had those facilities, this is something that the toll website should explain, Rick
