I know room can be tight if putting large objects in the back but if the cages were to stop in permanently then folding down the back seat to get them in wouldn't really be an issue. Cages could also be bolted down to the false floor & the floor bolted to the securing points in the boot. This has been done in a SWB but it'll give you an idea of what i'm going on about https://plus.google.com/photos/10616...90292654336924

I like that idea, Sweety - I'll do some measuring in the morning.
Jim - you are absolutely right; I am paranoid about joints etc, but when you consider that the lad, Hamish is taller than me (5'4'') when he stands on his hind legs - my head is on his chest lol. I also used to have a Sprinter for them and they were fine with that. |

What breed of dogs do you have ? if your dogs don't like jumping or you don't want them jumping up you can buy or even make a folding ramp for them. I don't have this problem having a Jack Russell as she jumps straight up onto the drivers seat

We got two Labs. One does Fly Ball competitive and Agility for fun but the youngster will probably do both competitive. So we have to take care with their joints and jumping in and out of a high boot wouldn't do them much good. Mind you the youngun is in disgrace tonight as he's broke my glasses.
Back on subject a big drop down won't do a big dog much good at all. I liked those links that lazy ferret posted just cost an arm and a leg. |

Oh yes I remember now a good friend of mine & an old member on here Cosmic used to have an akita & that jumped in & out of his T2 fine it only got harder for the dog when old age caught up with it but still managed most times & he was quite small for an akita

Hamish is bigger than a big Akita but the same sort of build. So as long as it's done carefully I think theyll be fine jumping in and out.
Gorgeous dogs, akita's; a friend of mine runs a team of three. |
