Default WANTED - Door moulding

hey guys,

I really want a door moulding, its the smaller part on the passenger rear door that is actually attached to the door (not the type that covers the whole lower half of the door..)

ok, had an idea - what about a complete set of door coverings>? I'm thinking of adding the door coverings and front arches - doing this means I can cover up the dent in the passenger rear door plus im removing all my panels any way to re spray...

anyone selling the trims?

Are you talking about the plastic bits that cover the entire lower part of the outer door? e.g, the silver bits on mine.

If you are, I was told that they are very hard to get second hand, owing to the fact that all the mounting points have a tendency to snap as you try to remove them. You will also need a template for the mounting holes if you did manage to get some, as a few of the holes are elliptical to allow for alignment.

I was on the look out for a Passenger side door one a year or so ago.

yes that's exactly what I mean, though I would be using Tiger Seal rather than creating holes in the doors!

The one I refitted, that had broken mounts on the passenger door is already starting to lift off again, even after I used copious amounts of Tiger seal... It would normally be held on by a double sided tape along the edges, and panel studs across the middle, in a couple of rows.

I spent about a month trying all sorts to get things to stick to it it back on. I purchased the proper 3M tape, and that would not even stick long enough to peal the backing off. I asked on here, and read up on line, and eventually I found that the only thing you can do is treat the plastic using a special spray paint to seal it, before sticking anything to it, but I think the stuff I got from Halfrauds was not really "Professional" grade.

I tried Tiger Seal, some stuff Zippy sent me, 3M automotive trim tape, some stuff that advertised it's self as even better than 3M's stuff, the list went on.

I found that when you stick anything to the panel, it stays there long enough to dry, then when you apply any pressure to it, it peals off taking a micro thin layer of plastic with it, so it looks like there is a thin layer of "stretch and seal" on the glued down side.

The Tiger seal does stick to the door though... I will never ever get that back off.
