Central locking problem
Hi all and happy new year to you, In the past few weeks my terrano has been locking itself. When it first started playing up it only locked itself when I started the engine but now 99% of the time it locks as soon as I open in. As I got the key with two buttons if I press the button once just the drivers door opens and as it locks straight away is it possible it's the locking mechanism on the drivers door. So far I've changed the batteries in both remotes and unplugged the switches including windows on drivers door but no joy. .

This has been mentioned a few weeks ago, my Mav sometimes does this.
It is a Nissan feature, called Random central locking syndrome. I have not investigated mine yet, but my first point of call would be to look at the driver's door key lock mechanism, there must be some sort of switch there, either faulty, damp, or poor insulation. Tapping the door or rocking the car sometimes triggers it, other times it just does it when I happen to be in the garage, but I often find all doors except the driver's door locked when I come to use it. Since mine doesn't randomly unlock... it has not been that urgent. I guess it has done it for about nine years, but was fine for the first nine years lol.
