96, I go along with some of the restrictions on new drivers and well meant they are, trouble is with someone like you who has gained a lot of experience before hand it is hard on you, on the day you pass your test alongside another same age person who has only ever driven in a learner car, I know who I will be happier with as a passenger, it will be you, so you may have to accept some restrictions, like a black box in the car till you prove yourself to the insurance system (purely to keep costs down) then stuff it when insurance premiums drop, only my observations but anything to keep costs down till you start racking up no claims bonus, Rick

Just wait, now the insurance will start to go up for female driver, I bet they don't reduce the premiums for male drivers, it's a win win for the insurers

i just thought, i'm going to try as hard as possible to get insuranse on my t2 before a resort to getting another tempoary motor, how would 'they' fit a black box to my t2, it's not got a ecu so they couldnt record the speed that the ecu registers, as i think a lot of the black boxes work via the vehicles Can-bus system

If i use my kindle as an example, it does, GPRS, edge, 3g, wi-fi, HSPA and HSDPA, (i think) and it swaps between whichever signal is strongest or available. So, most people would not be of the grid for very long and even then the time you left and came back compared to the distance covered would tell a lot about speed. And! how would you know if you were 'on-signal' or not
I assume they are, to a degree, like the emperors new clothes, and go faster stripes. They work because you believe in them. How much the really do is anyone's guess. |
