I just worked out my mileage and with some towing and some solo, some motorway and some not, this fill up she did 28.34 mpg, running on around 60% svo mix. pretty pleased with that

So glad I looked at this thread, Just did a trip from Suffolk Coast up to Leicester towing a late eighties 2 berth Bailey so not the lightest.
Not hanging around I matched the trucks doing 56 (passing the ones doing 52) and on occasion hitting 70 to pass a convoy when fed up with the logo on the back. 164 miles total starting with full tank and refueling again at destination took £50 at £1.49. My maths arrived at 22 mpg. Horrendous at today's prices so I won't be going far with the van again. The BMW K100RS can go the distance with a tent strapped to the back. |

Hi all, I run two terranos a 97 on a p and a 52 plate, i use both to pull a 7mtr baily single axle weighing approx 1600kgs fully laden, the 97 plate terrano runs on 75% veg oil 25%diesel and returns about 20-22mpg and has done 130,000 miles and the 52 plate terrano pulling the same van returns about 22-24mpg running on 100% diesel and has done 70,000 miles, the 52plate has 16" wheels and has slightly more power on hills. i never go more than 50-55pmh unless i really have to.
they were not bought for there economy, but to pull my caravan, running one on veg oil is a great bonus. rustygates.

I have an 02 2.7 TDI and tug a 1998 2 berth small caravan (about 1100 kg all up) and depends on the headwinds !!! Can be as low as 20 mpg but have also got about 25ish other times.... As I only get 30 on a good day solo it isnt too bad? However at the cost per gallon today we do limit how far we go towing now, which is a shame

£112 to fill my 2002 2.7tdi drove 440 miles with caravan on back half of that mileage
apparently that 26 miles to the gallon so not so bad |

WOW towed our van to Aeron coast and due to the never ending hills i got a shocking 17mpg. Ithink it was the fact that the hills were not just short and steep but went on for mile after mile. I had to work the old Trol a bit, could really do with a turbo
