Default House Alarm Veritas 8, how to reset BOSS code?

Re: House Alarm Veritas 8

I am going to add 2 extra PIR's to a friends alarm system.

I have downloaded all the manuals, and I have understood them.

However, there is a great little setup, which I would like to call " Extorsion" that if the original engineer has set it up that he AND only he, can do any changes to the set up.
I hope the engineer hasn't set it up like this, but by the time I find out I have probably rendered the system useless.

Even opening the box to add additional wires will trip the tamper circuit, and Guess what..... ONLY THE ENGINEER can reset it...
So no battery changes possible either.

It is possible to reset it, but it would be on the original factory settings, so will not allow for any changes, and probably the settings wouldn't suit the application.

To gain entry to the system to bypass the Engineers code you need a "BOSS" code, which is available from the manufacturer at a COST.....£££
That's even if they allow DIY people to have access....

Having trawled the internet, I discover that it is cheaper to remove the control box, and re-wire a complete new control panel.

I have an alternative up my sleeve, and that is to tap into one of the original PIR devices and parallel off one of these, (contacts in series) but I will probably trip the tamper circuit as well. BUT I think this tamper is reset by the user.

I could break into the wiring and see if he has used the correct wiring colour..... It'll be like disarming a bomb, do I cut the red wire or the blue wire.
I have a meter etc to help me determine which wire is which I think.....

Any ideas, if there are any Alarm Engineers out there with a BOSS code for this alarm then PM me direct... No names mentioned...

I know if I had an alarm like this I would replace the panel straight away, with another make of course.

My alarm I installed myself, hard wired with 2 remote keyboard entry points,
It's been OK for quite a few years, and I replace the battery every 5 years, if it needs it or not.... and it usually does.

Any advice greatfully received,
best regards,
Rustic
