You poor sod, I'm so glad I live in the sticks
However the thought of NOT being allowed to use CCTV to secure your goods seems a bit arse too
I'd report the incedent to local plod and complain in writing to the council. If you dont get a sensible response in a week , then stick your cctv in.

agreed who says you can't have it? I've never heard of such a thing, if some one tells you it's the council's rules, phone the council and ask. If you can't find an official version ignore the gossip and go ahead with it.

E bay are good for locking nuts I bought some recently and I was really pleased, the original Nissan ones were rubbish

P.M. me if you want a link to the seller

Absolutely untrue I'm pleased to say. Nothing you can do if someone trains a video camera on your garden. As I said above, there is NO legislation whatsoever in place relating to the use of CCTV - the only thing used to govern it relates to use of the output from it, not the cameras and their use per se, and domestic CCTV is fully exempted.

Why not? Who thinks they can stop you and why? Look at what I just said above? The only restriction could be to do with conservation or planning issues.
