Dodgy fuels
..anyone watch the episode of Road Wars where the 'innocent' motorist gets pulled over in an old G-plate Passat estate?
Old Bill dips his fuel tank during the stop and out comes some stinky black shite which yer man claims is "old engine oil guv"....."I always puts it in don't I to recycle and protect the environment" (Its Devon, say no more, but at this point the copper starts smiling cos he knows he's got one). Bill isn't convinced and rings HMRC who tell him to impound the vehicle. Apparently its a commonly used trick to try and hide the red dye. And yes, turns out that Turnip Head is running a mix of Red and kerosene heating oil and ends up with a "three figure fine from HMRC".......... So there you go. |
