Newish member
HI to everyone, my name is Richard and have been a member for a few months now but only now got round to introducing myself. Own a Terrano2 lwb which have had for 6 months chosen amongst other thiings for the seven seats and ability to tow our caravan. Find the forum very interesting and sometimes even educational?? Have fitted new air flow meter which made a big difference after reading on forum but now got a problem when sometimes after starting it wont rev above 2000 revs, turn engine off and start it again and all is fine, any thoughts, look forward to talking to all more often, cheers Rich[/quote]

Hi Rich and welcome.
I wonder if the glow plugs could be on the way out, this might cause a sluggish start up? |

Hello Rich and welcome, good to see new members posting, thats what its all about.
Have you got any lights staying lit on the dash when you start with the problem? Has this happened from the first day or two of changing the MAF and have you checked the MAF plug connection is tight and secure? Sorry for so many questions just trying to get a bigger picture. |

No lights on on dash but possibly been happening since new maf fitted but doesnt happen all the time so hard to say, maf sensor is a patent part not genuine but seems to work fine when running,

This may sound silly but do you get the MIL (engine warning light) lighting up when you switch the ingnition on it'll be on the left side of the clocks & is amber in colour :? The reason I ask is my bulb for the MIL light was missing so I did'nt know if I had probs or not

Rich,
I would double check the connection on the MAF, if the connection is ok I would fit the old MAF (if you still have it) and run it for a few days to see if the fault is still there. The MAF will often not put the MIL on even if it’s disconnected. |
