New Terrano :)
Well, all being well I'll be picking up the new toy tomorrow (hope it goes ok,cos I'm quite excited now & it'll be a tenner wasted on the forum if it goes pear shaped!).
I've been hunting round for somewhere to get it serviced (previous owner said it was serviced last year but doesn't have details of what's been done when). Thus I want it to have a serious service before I put more than a handful of miles on it. Nationwide Autos (you know the one the AA recommend) quote me around £220 (checked online) for a 'major service', I suspect this is just standard road car stuff & won't include diff oil, my local 4x4 specialist (mostly do Landies but some Jap stuff too) have quoted £255 including all fluids (diffs & gearbox). Does this sound reasonable? The vehicle's going to be a third car/runabout so I don't want to spend a kings ransome, but want peace of mind that she'll cope with whatever we need her for. I'd love to potter round, take my time & try to do the job myself but real world..... .....well finding time is tricky & I want to be behind the wheel asap! |
