Hi all.
Thought I'd say a quick hello as I'm planning to pick up my Terrano at the weekend .It's going to be a 3rd family car as I drive an (oldish) E Class Merc during the week and my wife a (much newer) A Class. It'll be something to transport us through the snowy Peak District winters, explore a few of our local green lanes, occasionaly tow a caravan & be general weekend/playday transport.

I've been browsing the classifieds for a Discovery for sometime and had a look at a few. Many I saw around my budget (£1-2K) looked pretty rotten and I worried they'd become money pits. So I cast an eye round some alternatives - Daihatsu Fourtraks looked good, wasn't keen on the Shoguns, & then discovered the Terrano 2s. I'd spotted a couple of 3 door ones till the 'boss' said I should find a 5 door/7 seater. So I did & test drove it this afternoon.

I plan to pick her up at the weekend. She's a 2.7 diesel, lwb touring on a '99 V plate, leather seats (seems quite rare & whilst I wasn't looking for them, I'm not complaining!), dark green & silver, 90k miles. It's a private sale & she is due a service (any idea how much I should expect to pay?). I'm paying a touch over £2k, does that sound fair?

I'd love to hear your opinions/comments. I expect I'll become a regular visitor here very quickly! Will be stumping up for full membership the moment the car's on the drive.
