Default New MOT Myths or NOT

So the new MOT regulations are here. There’s a hell of a lot of panic, myths, untruths and scare mongering on social media, the media and people talking.

So what does it mean for Terrano drivers? If you read the wording of the regulations it does seem worrying on the surface, for instance smoke of any colour from a diesel?

The environment is mentioned a lot in the regulations. My personal opinion is that the intentions behind the changes are to remove vehicles from the road rather than ensure safety of vehicles. Could this be the beginning of a very quick demise of Terranos?

A worry Fail is the category called Dangerous, a vehicle can not be driven until repaired. Surely this is open to abuse by garages wishing to engineer business? Also is the category of Fail subject to testers personal opinions, so would one tester call it dangerous but another call it major? A Major Fail can be driven away from the test station so you can drive home to repair it.

It would be interesting to hear from anyone that works in the motor trade.

I think we will have to wait and see how it does or doesn’t effect us.
