Brake Pad options ?
My Jeep is going to need some brake pads soon so am looking for options as replacements.
The Original Mopars are quite cheap at around £38.35 delivered with lots of slightly dearer options like Brembo etc. I don't want hard high performance pads that need to warm up and might squeal. Out of choice I prefer a slightly softer pad that is kinder on the discs - not fussed about the extra black dust. Price is not really an issue as long as it's not off the Richter Scale. lol Back in the 1970's I used to buy Belaco pads for my Cooper and they were brilliant. Nice pedal feel with loads of brake dust and my discs were like polished glass without a rut after 40k miles. I guess they were Asbestos based! They would last about 2 years. If they still exist I guess the mix will have changed with the demise of asbestos brake materials. Anyone got any recommendations based on experience ? |
