help on puttinga 3.0 engie in a 2.7

Hi everyone i use my 4x4 for towing my mini diggers. ive had a few troopers but as you know 3.0 BADDDD engines

, tried a disco sorry to all disco lovers but wouldn't pull me out of bed

. A friend of mine told me to get a terrano

which i did swb black o4 reg 2.7. BEST advice ever pulls fantastic only problem is drinks the fuel 70 miles to £20 obviously im pulling jcb 801 on a
8x4 iforwilliams plant trailer all together weights arround 2.3 is that right
should it be using that much ? . if i come across a 3.0 engine is it possible to
put it in my 2.7 will it fit ? as they are better on fuel. i know some will think sell it an get a 3.0 one but i haven't seen any as good as mine also has to be swb for when i reversing into my property as its tight. any info appreciated. ps im new to this first post
