I'm absolutely thrilled to say that we made it to a nighttime launch and saw a Falcon 9 take to the sky! It was worth the wait!
This is a picture from the night... Not my own I will add! I decided not to take any video footage or photos of it, as I've viewed enough of them on screen and just wanted to be in the moment! I waved goodbye to my Florida home, knowing I will be back there in 34 weeks! It was time to head back to the airport and drop off the rental Truck. They agreed because of the mess up with the trucks at the start of the holiday, that I could take this one back on an empty tank... So I really did! You can see that the fuel gauge needle is well below the empty mark and where it says “Low Fuel” is usually a countdown of miles left in the tank... That hit ZERO 8 miles from the Airport! All in all, it was an awesome holiday, the train horns made it back in one piece and I elegy await a letter from customs about my Compressor & Air Tank! Unfortunately, it's now back to reality! |
