roof rack
so far I have done a2" body lift and put 31s on.
me mates goin help me with me front torsion bar lift that just leaves the rear 3" lift to do. Its already a struggle to get me ladders on and off. I have to climb the a ladder up the side of the truck to fasten them on. ive worn most the paint away on me truck now When ive done the next lift for the maximum full 5" lift and put 33s on, I will either need a caravan step or summat. We also need extra storage for camping gear and veg oil so my most pressing mod is the roof rack and im thinking of askin me mate who owns a fabricating shop make this but before I put me hand in my pocket I thought id ask for opinions. its obviously got to come within the a reasonable weight limit as its fixed to standard roof rails.( I had the lining out to try and figure out how to reinforce the rails in earlier posts) not really doable. it only has to carry 2 sets of ladders. a bucket(I only just thought of that ( another hook somewhere)) and when were camping it needs just to carry the light weight bulky stuff.so we can fit the dog in. the roller at the back of the rack would be for leaning the ladder against a bit of a lift and drop down to hook on the front bars of the rack= easy transport with out locking ladders on for short distances. the a ladder hooks at the side are to save me keep putting the seat down and chucking them in the car. the mesh plateing is for good all over hooking points. its got to be 4" wide for sheets of ply mdf n stuff. and im thinking a good sturdy over boot canopy to keep the blazing sun of me while I cook oat cakes. |
