Default Alarm installation

Anyone know about fitting alarms...

Our caravan has an alarm installed, which is basically a modified version of a self install motorbike alarm, made by a defunct company called "Sola-Larm", and other names before they finally disappeared completely.

It was (Loosely speaking) fitted by the caravan importers, so counts for the insurance, but was not working properly when we got the van. The state of the wiring was awful, huge lengths of wire wrapped up and cable tied into lumps that were just left loose on the locker floor, and got caught on things...

When we got it, it was not working as the instructions said, and after a lot of searching, and finding information on the web, I discovered what the problems were, and have managed to fix it, so will be putting it back in, for the insurance discount. Not a great lover of Alarms, but it will be OK when it is parked up on the drive.

The one thing I am not sure about though, is the "Microwave sensor", and I can not really find any information on it.

When it was installed, it was attached to the side of the locker with double sided tape, which because of the way the wires were, had pulled off. From what I understand, the Microwaves are able to permeate through wood, so the fact it is inside the locker does not stop it still covering the area in front of it... what I do not know though, is does it also cover the area behind it? I did read somewhere that bunnies running under the van may set it off!!

Basically, it is just a 2.5" square box, about 3/8" thick, with an LED and adjustment pot visible on one side... Weirdly, this was the side fixed against the locker, so you could not adjust it, with out having to un-stick it each time.

Any ideas of what the detection pattern is?
