-The "arm out the window" pose isn't to look cool, it's because there is nowhere else for the arm to go. -
The brake pedal is just somewhere to rest your foot while you gradually slow down due to wind resistance. - There are lumps and bumps on stretches of road which I previously thought were flat. - "Climate control" is when the cold draught behind your head balances out the heat coming off the gearbox. - If you can't find a gear, give up and move on to the next one. It will probably come back later. - The HGV I drive for work suddenly feels like a finely tuned sports car. - The reason Defenders are so narrow is to give you extra room on the road when it randomly lurches left or right. -70mph is an ambition, not a speed limit. - "Heel and toe" braking, so you can blip the throttle and double clutch while downshifting, is harder than it sounds. But when you get it right you feel like a BOSS! - The "Land Rover wave" is a real thing! I always thought KP was having me on, but I got waved at twice today. The sort of wave that says "I feel your pain, brother!" -Despite all of this, and for reasons I don't fully understand, I kinda like it! |
