Default Nissan Terrano chip problem

Hi i have recently purchased a 2000 Nissan Terrano 11 and have come accross a problem the other day when i was about to drive off and no power at all.I would like to know if this would be a chip problem as one of the previous owners said he did have a chip problem in the past. This owner was not the previous owner to myself, but after recieving the letter off him to find out any history i am just concerned that this might be a problem and an expensive one ? I had the problem about a week ago,and it has not done it since.I hope some one can answer me asap as the 3 monthh warranty ends soon. Many thanks,Steve.

Most likely your MAF is on its way out and going out of range.. You'll manage about 45-50mph tops eventually, when it chooses to go into limp mode.

Its the air flow meter. Located between the air filter and turbo.
