i'd probably do that to be honest...but i take pics of everything, especially when the cars being worked on. I think its good for documentation and if you require any comeback over stuff.

on my Mazda forum, one of the lass's there, shes the same, if cars in garage, she goes down tehre with her camera, and photo's everything then reports back. its actually really useful stuff. for example, when she had her timing belt done etc, she photo'd the whole process, so now we all know whats involved, handy.

Angry bad news

garage just rung and said they had found the reason for the gearbox failure , while removing the old knackered one , they noticed 2 pipes joined together , it seems that the car had no transmission oil cooler ,which just made the atf get hotter and hotter until it cooked the gearbox , they suspect that someone had replaced the radiator with a manual one , so now they are looking for a after market transmission oil cooler or a original one , another delay !

thankyou very much paul , but i still dont understand why on earth someone would join the pipes , wouldnt it be easier while you were doing that , to just replace the cooler ? ... they must have known it would fail , it was only a matter of time .this club never ceases to amaze me , and certainly restores my faith in mankind

Look on the bright side Pete, at least you now know why it failed so doesn't mean it's a total lemon.
