Ian you still have trojans by the sound of it - they typically divert your browser.

You need to download AVG 9.0 and SpyBot. Wait and I'll find you the correct links, as there are lots of dodgy ones.

The other thing to do is run these in safe mode (usually hold F8 down on startup and select "Safe mode with networking")....because hardly anything is running, it stops the virus or trojan regenerating itself, which they frequently do.

back in a mo with the links.

OK, AVG 9.0 is available here - make sure you download the free version.

http://www.avg.com/gb-en/product-avg...s-free-edition

Spybot is here...

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

Once installed, do updates then reboot into safe mode (hold F8) then run each one in turn. That should do for pretty much anything you have wrong.

spybot tends to look more for spyware and adware which also do funny things but aren't quite the same as Trojans or virus....its sort of a moot point as they are all little feckers, but if you download spybot you'll find it picks up different stuff to AVG.

agree about CCleaner, very useful little utility.

sounds like your internet has been hijacked, i have linked to some sites that will help, i use spyhunter and it does the job but it's a paid version.

If your running XP go into control panel and go to Add and Remove Programs or Vista is Control and then Programs and Features.

Then look for anything like "My Web Search" or any Tool Bars, also Screen Savers are another way you get infected. I have to say this may help but they usually leave behind a pay load of some sort so you may end up flattening and starting again.

PS Ian, if you need any more help PM me your phone number.

guys, i can tell you how to sort this peice of p1ss. ok, yes, its a troja, or spyware. To get rid, you need a program called ComboFix (thats unless yoru other software hasnt worked) go to here http://www.combofix.org/

and have a read, telsl you everything. simple program, run it in windows, it might take agood10 mins or longer, but it goes through approx 50 stages, once that is complete, it compiles a report, wait for that, done, reboot, should be sorted.

I work in IT. hope I can help, nice to be able to give something back!
