Dont do it unless it has full Merc history & standard with low milage.!
Otherwise youll be jumping out the pan & into the BIGTIME.!
Me M8 had from his grand parents, not a problem, then decided to get a blinged up amg...Nothing but agro & det followed...
Nows his got a disco
Once youve gone jap theres no turning back

Mercedes C-class...mmmm..depends on the vintage, but if he's swapping from a SWB T2 I'm guessing its an older one.

If thats the case, personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole myself. I had a brand new one when they first came out and it was so bad I sold it and bought a brand new Maverick!

Its the car that sank Mercs reputation for quality/reliability/longevity!

Best of both worlds - get a G Wagon, though you might have to add two extra zeros to what you wanted to pay.

Later ones were certainly good Dave but the early ones want avoiding like the plague IMHO. Just been reading Parkers and they rate the model from its earliest version TBH, but I'm afraid the two I have experience of were both shockers, one new, one s/h! Mercs reliability dip seems to have been written out of the history books!

However if you Google 'Mercedes Poor Reliability' you'd be surprised what comes up...

My other half drives a 96 C200 elegance and we've only had one problem with a rad. She won't part with it and I can say its a great car to drive when I get out my Troll

When she does decide to part with it, it'll be another Merc
