Default Renault Clio 1.2 16v

This is the worst Renault site I've ever been on!!! I demand a refund!

All I want to know is how difficult is a timing belt change and nobody bloody knows???

Disgraceful.

Seriously....just bought No2 daughter a 2001 Clio 1.2 16v and guessing it needs a belt change as no sign of one in the book - any of you buggers ever done one, or know a man who did?

I know theres an embarrassed Scenic owner here somewhere ....

well thankfully i only put £250 in, her gran and mother (not-so-beloved ex-wife!!!!) put the rest up.

she nagged the crap out of me to buy it, despite me eyeing up a tidy little corsa - can't argue with daughters!

having said that, a clio saved my wifes life three years ago...whats your beef with them then Sweety? Is it gonna be that bad???

it's not something i would recommened to do unless your a mechanic they are not easy to do and if you mess the timing up you'll end up blowing the engine and it'll need a lot of new stuff then.

not worried about the doing of it....just wasn't sure how accessible and what tools are needed; as Ex says, I know you need locking pins but sounds like I'd better speak to Mr Haynes....
