some sites have free wifi, but im sure if lots of people are watching TV through it, it must get slow at times

of course theres a halfbreed solution if you use something like the Virgin 3G laptop PCMCIA plug-in card that uses mobile phone bandwidth to give (I think) unlimited download for £30/mth?

my nephew in virginia usa has just emailed me to say it will not work out of the uk I told him about it and he was quite excited but it comes up "uk service only" but I am sure there will be a way around that by some clever bod.... bri

Bri there are plenty of other 'catchup ' sites that should work overseas...the one suggested in this thread seems to start playing a programme immediately, giving the impression its maybe running in a 'semi-live' mode or something.

Can he see BBC iPlayer?
