Well you could spray the inside with some decent paint, ie hammerite.

Get it shotblasted 1st to remove all traces of the dreaded brown stuff

Good scheme Jocky, I do feel a hammerite session coming on.

Having had a look this morning I reckon I'll cut a V in the inside bit of the cap to go on the bottom bit. That'll give a clear path for anything running down to the small hole on the lower bottom edge as well as making it easier to push in pull out.

What I really nice suprise, thought it was postman pat delivering new front bar, But nooo,
Its Scott at the door with it. Was in area and wanted to see it fitted, couple of minutes
it was on and then we got on with real task of putting world to rights over a cuppa!!

Thanks Scott, it really is even better than I expected and will get my spare jaw/ball onto
it later, leaving plug as only partially in as once in wont come out easily. Hope you got
some petrol on way home.
