very true,
though a few years back, the guy who MOTed a Caviy i was useing, did.

hed passed it, beeing a mate he said it was OK, but personaly he wanted to have alook at it in his own workshop. i let him, he found the WRONG side break pads ad been fitted. and were nearly touching each other!!

was my brother in laws car, ( he was in the falklands RAF ) at teh time. he also did lots of towing gliders. could have been very nasty.. no front breaks and towing a glider..

oh the joys of motering

tell you how bad it was zippy, the rear o/s seat belt mount looked corroded so i pulled it and it came straight through carpet, i stood there for minute, thought bloody hell, baby seat could be fitted to that belt, and then checking vehicle i found brake pipes weeping, rear brakes not working (siezed), all 4 drop links knackered, front wheel bearing hanging off (adj), and the corroded belt mount, and all that don,t happen in 8 months.
