Default OK I give up

As most of you will know I am a bit of an engine fan and also into very heavy transport, so been looking for how they transport the Wartsilla 14RTA96-C ship engine from factory to ship, it is 2300 tonnes over 100k hp and eats 250 tonnes of fuel a day, but I cannot find it, utube shows a pic of it on a transporter but as is often the case this is not featured in the vid when you click on it, can anyone more able than me help, thanks in advance, Rick

aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

Yes Zips that is the engine still in the factory and being test run, I want to see it being loaded on to transport for road delivery to the ship and loaded into the ship, Rick

So we have an engine that uses around 282,000 litres of fuel a day & the government piss & moan about the carbon emissions of road vehicles
I wonder how the emissions of marine vessels compares to the road transport of the world.
I used to work off shore in the oil business & there's a lot traffic on the ocean.

what we use on the roads is a very small % of what is used by rail, marine and avation

I would have thought that an engine that size wasn't transported at all. I'd have thought that it was either semi dismantled and then moved or built at a quayside location and partially dismantled and then rebuilt in the ship.

Yes - I don't think it is moved in one piece. Moved in more manageable pieces, and installed (might even be partially built) in place.

You can see on some stills that it is loaded fully assembled onto a lorry, just can't find any videos of it.

I now have to side with emjaybee & perelaar in that it would have to be dismantled into modular blocks for transport, utube as I have now discovered is full of scams ( only been looking for a short while) but now I am getting used to how it opperates many heavy moves are not real, but have found a couple that I think are genuine, and it follows my old rule of thumb that for instance a mobile crane that can lift say 100 tonnes will itself need to weigh around 100 tonnes, and having seen a 400 tonne load being moved and the overall total including prime movers was around 1100 tonnes, I cannot see a 4600 tonne vehicle moving any place on normal roads, shame on utube for that clearly photo shopped pic of the engine on a transporter, hunt off Zipps you will not find it, Rick
