Shocking news Jim. I hope it's a speedy recovery for your wife, but I've recently found out it takes longer the older you get
All the best.

We have just got back from the hospital. Her right foot is the worst where it was trapped in the pedals, she has broken metatarsals. Her other ankle and leg is badly bruised and her upper body has muscle strains a bit like whip lash.
I sent a photo to a friend who does recovery and he says if it had of been an ordinary car with that kind of impact the outcome would have been totally different. Tired now but when I get chance I will post some photos.

She is gutted to loose her Terrano

Glad she's not tooooooooo bad bloke.

Does that mean both your trucks are out of action?

Guess we'll have to start looking out for a new truck for your missus as well as Banshee's Gramps.

Wish her a speedy recovery.

Borrowed a rear light to go with the one i had in the garage and stuck old bumbper back on the other week when it snowed so that I could get around if needed.
Reet I'm off to bed it's been a long day bitter sweet but my wife is safe which is the most important thing.

Hi Jim,

Only just read this post hope your Wife recovers OK.

PS We tend to use our Jeep for most journeys in the hope it's more survivable than a normal car.

I hope things straighten out fast for you Jim, stuff the truck, make sure the misses is OK that's the main thing.

You seem to be having as much bad luck as me lately, not that its a competition, what have we done wrong!?!?!

Hopefully the new year will be better pal!!!

Thanks for the support guys I really appreciate it and I've passed them on to Mrs t. She's very sore today but safe. First impressions from insurance company are 50 50 which I believe is knock for knock which we are going to fight like hell. As you'll see from the photo the car is well over to the left and clearly not moved since impact. Even now I cannot believe what has happened and how close I came to losing my wife. Sure the car is valueless but we are both gutted as we have had it since 2002.

Look carefully and in my shadow is the remains of the other cars drivers side wheel and suspension. The brake disk was shattered and I've never seen a disk shatter before.

I have had issues in the past with Insurance companies trying to go the easy route and give blame 50/50 and have always fought the case if I was in the right.

One Joker tried to blame the wife when he pulled out of a side road on a four lane two way road to turn right with his view completely blocked by a bus and hit the nearside rear of the wife's car as she passed the slow moving bus ! In this case and previous cases I have taken photographs of the scene and of the view afforded to drivers.

Knock for knock does not really affect you as this is an inter insurance agreement where companies do not claim off one another quite separate I believe from any blame split.

And this is what the scene looked like. Very scary. It'll be interesting to see what you guys think of it.

Jim, I know the exact spot. Right next to the farm.
Has the other driver come from the junction on the left?
You have to swing out wide to get around the tight corner on the junction.
I travel that road 4 times a day on average. I have seen a lot of accidents along that road.

Jim. Your wife is ok (so to speak). The truck can be replaced.

Treat her like a princess whilst she's in recovery & please give her my regards

A bit of T-cut will see that alright!
That's an impact and I think your Mrs is lucky she was in such a tank. I stuffed a Mkii Escort at 60mphish (officer) and did less damage than that.
