The sherry bottle

On retiring to bed, the titled owner of a stately pile noticed that the level in his sherry bottle was lower than he expected. He marked the bottle, and to his astonishment the level continued to drop on a daily basis. By a process of elimination the blame fell square on the butler . . . . .simmering with fury, the gentleman decided to exact his revenge by placing the decanter on the floor, dropping his trousers and replenishing the level in the bottle. As the level dropped yet again he was unable to restrain his rage & summoned the butler & demanded to know if he was indeed responsible. . . . .

Without hesitation, the butler confessed. 'Of course Sir. If you recall, the Doctor advised that you take half a glass in your soup each day' . . . . .
