1.5m per race Actual work say 16 hrs over 2 days - practice & race. 0.75m a day £9375 per hour £156.25 a minute Plus any extra appearances & personal endorsements. So we have to not buy any Mercedes products, avoid any products he sponsors, not watch GP on TV etc and he is out of a new contract !! |

Think about it another way.
I was a teacher who earned about €25,00 per hour. I'd use the example of finding a system where I could design classes that could teach larger groups until I could fill Old Trafford and charge each student €1,00. That'd be €75,000 per hour. I would then increase the price until attendance started to drop off and leave the price at that. Think about your own jobs and how it could be upscaled either by supplying an ¡ncreased demand or employing more people under you to repeat what you're doing. Yes, the figures are huge and possibly obscene. No, I wouldn't turn it down if people were prepared to give it to me. As long as we are happy to buy SKY subscriptions and any of the products that the sponsors supply, the salaries will be huge. Also regarding the athletes themselves, where would you like the money to go? The football clubs are receiving the money as people are prepared to pay. Should this go to the shareholders or owners? Or should it go to the players who I go to watch? The players who entertain me? Yes. Should the gate prices be lower? Absolutely.... But as long as the stadiums are full, the prices will remain high. The knock on effect is that my club, Wrexham, a conference club thinks it's acceptable to charge 17.00GBP per game and get crowds af around 1.000 or fewer. The money has fractured the football leagues and will do the same for Formula 1 too. I don't begrudge Hamilton negotiating his slice of a rather large cake. If we don't like it, we shouldn't watch it. Simples. |

I like the hands on contact sport of touring car racing or auto cross or any extreme sports . |
