If it's just a star, without long cracks radiating from it, you might be OK driving it - all depends how big it is. Have a star in the windscreen on my T2, must have been there for years. But only a small one, 5-6mm diameter, no cracks, and not penetrating to the inside of the window...

Exclamation Take control Briggie

Take control just drive it until its done unless you have tracker monitor fitted who is to know plus you are on holiday.

Motorbility just want to hope it can be repaired, if there is a crack that's not something that can be repaired anyway. Even if it gets worse it's not as if the screen will fall out. I have known cracks to spread just from frost or being in the sun.

It is mobilities car, if you go out and involved in an incident, they will get to know... and will have written evidence that you were told not to drive it.
So re plan your day, they might be sourcing a screen before they can commit to a time.

Give it an hour... if you haven't heard in that time call back.

At least you are still mobile even with a cracked screen. Might be a distraction but atleast you can do short trips.

"Thursday" Are they making it?
Have they asked you to get some sand off the beach and they can melt it down, but care... you need silica sand to make glass.

Yours is a car still in production, and they can't get one sooner!

So if it's deemed safe to drive, have mobility agreed to that too, now.
If so... drive it with extreme care, but if it rains you will shred your wipers... so who will pay for them? and if they say no you can't drive it, then say can you have a replacement, or credit to pay for several taxis, as you have to use the car on a daily basis... as per the reasons you have a mobility car in the first place.
Using the car is essential... if only for getting food to last until Thursday.

Now... who am I most unimpressed with?
I think it must be mobility, and the reason being, I would have thought they have someone to organise this for you, and take ownership of this problem.

It does amaze me how many large stones can hide in a lorry tyre tred, the one I sometimes drive can store some the size of a £1 coin. I steer clear of being behind trucks, especially tipper trucks as these can collect bricks and large concrete pieces between the twin drive wheels, which can let go at speed with deadly consequences.

You have to ring them to ask permission to drive the car, then just go with my suggestion of finding an alternative way to get your shopping.

Mobility must have some clout with Auto glass, but they could just as easily organise your screen from another supplier... but that call must be from them.
So get them to sort it.
You need to be polite, assertive, no shouting, no bad language, but give a good "argument" as to what the issue is, and that the time scale is just not acceptable, but also give alternative solution what they can do to keep you mobile?
They need to try to keep the customer satisfied...
Wasn't that a song by Simon and Garfunkle lol
