Gutted doesn't even come close
Okay guys, some of you will know I was due to take part in a charity fight night in the main city hall in Dundee on 25th April. All of us are novices and have been training since end of January. We were really coming on and the local paper even did a spread on us with photos. I'd even convinced my work to provide some sponsorship for the event. There was 18 of us in total and we'd had all arranged for family and friends to take tables for the night.
Well, less than 3 weeks before event night Boxing Scotland have decided to withdraw their permit for the night so it's all off. To have trained so hard and come so close just to get it taken away... disappointed isn't the word On the plus side I met a great bunch of lads and had a great experience along the way, just can't believe it's over like that |

Steve, far as I understand it the permit is for the event/venue. It had been granted but I know there was opposition from some of the other boxing clubs in Dundee and best I can guess at the moment is that they had been putting on the pressure and have finally got there way
Actually Alex, some of us have considered having a session in the backies Dammit I broke the first rule... |

It's not the sponsor bud, it's the licence - Boxing Scotland are the professional body for amateur boxing and they've withdrawn the licence they granted so we're scuppered I'll see the guy who was organising it on Thursday and hopefully find out more about why they took it away

Such are the crap that rule us mate, all corrupt as far as I can see, that is why I do what I do and that is ignore them, but I am in a special position to be able to do that, but most are not, sorry cannot say more than that, Rick
