Terrano Diesel Pump
As some of you know, my truck has been unwell for a while.
Stealers say its a little 3 pin unit held on the diesel pump with sheer bolts. Apparently, this doesn't come seperatly. Diesel pump part number; 167001f200 Mk1 non intercooler (square headlight) Terrano II, mechanical pump. Thanks in advance guys! |

FYI..here's a link for the Zexel VRZ (Bosch VP37) IP service manual in PDF.
It may only serve to confirm a replacement pump is the way to go! http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...58187178,d.ZG4

Although a fantastic piece of information, its not relevant to my pump.
Thanks anyway, but i think a pump replacement is on the cards anyway. Unless someone knows how to remove/bypass the immobilizer unit on the pump, that is! BTW, nissan part no: 167001f200 Bosch: 9460610791 |

Is yours a 3.0L (ZD30) engine?

The only thing the immobiliser can do to a VE37 type IP is prevent the fuel cut off from operating, which can easily be bypassed. As far as I am aware there are 3 basic IP's used on Terrano's: 1) VE37 / 2.7L mechanical throttle 2) VP37 / 2.7L fly by wire throttle 3) VP44 / 3.0L fly by wire throttle. CAN bus controlled and coded to ECU. Hope it helps.

Interesting.
The stealers code read mine, and reckon its the immobilisers unit on the IP that's the cause of the fault. I have tried giving the cut off solenoid a direct live feed, it clicks, but still doesn't start. Im not sure what to think now, ive been told so many different things now - do i need a new IP or not? What is the 3 wire unit on the IP thats held in by sheer bolts that the dealers reckon is the problem, and how do we rectify it? |

Even the VP37 fly by wire IP has no immobiliser, the fuel delivery is however under direct ECU control, so if the ECU says no go that's it.
IF your IP is a mechanically controlled IP (VE type?) and it has a 3 wire connection plus the shutoff solenoid, I am afraid I am unsure what that is. I admit that the fact that you have an ECU that controls a mechanical IP is confusing. That said there are variants of the VE pump (VE-EDC and VE-MV) that dispense with a mechanical throttle and do use an ECU to control fuel quantity.

That 3 wire 'thingy' links to the IMMU (or so i have been told) On my model, the ECU only seems to operate the EGR valves, although there was someting about a fue delivery valve in addition to the 2 above valves, but i believe these were on the Zexel flyby wire pumps fitted to the TDI's |

Rang James and he only has complete engines.
That's the trouble with these engines, I find because they are so bulletproof no one breaks them as they come out of either crash damaged vehicles or ones that have failed MOT due top not being able to be welded anymore He does have some Fuel Pumps for 2.7 TDi's and 3.0l ZD30's

I think davenclaire is on the money there, its a feedback potentiometer for EGR control.
The so called ECU on these units are only there for EGR (emission control) and should not prevent the engine from starting.

Right, so there is nothing on the fuel pump that is tied to the IMMU unit?
Ok, so how does the immobiliser work on these vehicles, as simply giving a direct feed to the cut off solenoid doesn't work? |
