Your wings don't look too bad from the photos compared to some I've seen.
Wings are pretty rare so you might want to get them repaired if possible.

I'm very lucky in that my motor came from Cyprus and then I believe it spent some time abroad, not to mention it appears to have been rust proofed from new. That hasn't stopped me giving it more treatment to keep it rot free.

I've found that all my service parts are available from my local motor factors and there's plenty on ebay too if that's your thing.

They're a simple beast, bit like a Landie 110 with some comfort and luxuries but missing the oil leaks !

I put MT gear oil in my main box because they are known to be tight on gear changes when the weather is cold. Seems a common thing with the strong old Nissan boxes. Beware not to get certain oils because it can attack the syncros I've read.

I've set the tappets, fitted a snorkel, tweaked the injector pump timing, turned up the fuel, put a bigger bore exhaust downpipe flexy and straight thru middle box from a 200 tdi Disco on mine and it goes nicely.

Mine has an inline injector pump and I run it on a large percentage of rapeseed veggie oil at a pound a litre.

I have a 2 inch suspension lift and 1 inch body lift and 265/75/16 tyres. I've resisted going bigger on the tyres because of the added rolling resistance and mass that harms fuel consumption and braking, simply because I drive mine daily.

Future plans if I ever get the time are to make front and rear bumpers for mine, though they are available, but like me, you're probably not gonna want to spend hundreds of pounds on them.

I take it since yours is a Safari like mine, that it's still on km speedo ? If so I got a Nissan 300 zx speedo face from ebay, which I modded to fit and re calibrated the speedo myself so that I could have a mph/kmh speedo. It's just a slightly different green when lit up at night and a very slightly different font but acceptable and better than guessing your speed with the cameras everywhere.

Anything else you need to know, just give us a shout.

Thanks, what I forgot to mention, is that work are PAYING ME £70 a week to use it on site, plus paying for the fuel, so in 8.5 weeks the truck is effectively free, the contract should last for 18 moths, so if the truck lasts that long it will earn me £5400 approx, so I may invest a bit of cash getting it looking and running well. At the end of the day in 8 weeks its a free car
