Yes, they may a really tidy job of that.....
Looks like they used an axe.... or probably the nearest pair of side cutters.
Problem is the older CU's are not designed to fit RCBO's.

Also cold water input / low pressure will increasce the starting current

f**k me, they hot glued the rcd into position? WTF? its tripping for a reaosn, most likely the wiring isnt up to it, or the shower is faulty. Have you checked the wiring going into the RCD for the shower? what size cable is it? does the shower work properly, i,.e. does it get the water HOT? At what point does it trip, when you turn it on at the cord, or when you turn it on at the shower?

NO CARD ....NO GETTING IN

the problem with council sparks .....they are sh*t due too the low pay

any good spark would not stay @ the council for 21-23 k .....so you end up with the rubbish

To answer both questions Clive, the pull cord is parminantly on, ie, if you turn it off, it should turn the shower off but won't,there's a main transformer mounted outside the bathroom for the extractor fan, this is probably on a seperate circuit as it doesn't get effected....the shower cuts off as soon as the dial is turned into the red, luckily it is working at a good temp just now.

Coucil shower, council fit, council sort it out, simples.
I guess though that the muppet fitter didn't rewire and it's still on 6mm T&E
Do remember any great upheaval of rooms and floor boards Ryan?
Ring them in the morning, don't get independant sparky in as you may not get your money back

Yes, they pulled the upstairs floor boards up on the on the upstairs landing, the bathroom in at the end of the hall so the landing is right ofer the top of the hall, the fuse board is at the other end of the hall to the bathroom. If that makes sense

sounds like an issue inside the shower to me, turning to red calls on more power to heat, and something makes it trip...if turning off the pull cord doesnt turn off the shower, thats also wrong and dangerous. you need to get the whole shower electrics sorted mate.
