Hi as you can see am new to this as have never owned A nissan before (had A maverick 7 years ago but gave it back to seller when he refused to fix problems ) have now bought an 2003 xtrail 2.2dci which has come with its own bag of trouble so may be being another send back to seller though this one at least has said will look at it , any good techs known around North Wales for nissan cos local dealer has bad rep though that doesnt seem to be uncommon:

What do I start with ? After looking around for A while ( unfortunately after the snow so all prices got hiked !) I found what looked to be A good deal (ha) A 2003 dci with 85k on the clock 2 lady owners (Never known why the fact its lady owners should make such A difference ) full nsh went all the way to Blackburn to view & liked what I saw & drove (around town) so I did the deal ! Driving home serious lack of power so tuned back to garage Closed ! Has no power on hills, doesnt rev much over 3k , any answers ? still like the machine its comfy goes where I want it to (slowly) & doesnt seem bad on fuel any ideas ?

Could be crappy air filter or fuel filter, or a fuel pump problem but thats descending order of likeliness If you can get hold of previous owner from V5 its worth talking to them to find out why they got shot, just in case. Bottom line though is dealer is liable for all faults within six months of purchase, especially if they were present or developing at time of sale. Make him change the MAF as a starter for 10. Its a plug and play job so should take him ten minutes. |

Welcome to the club mate, I am sure someone with a XTrail will come along to help shortly, most of us seem to have Nissan Terrano's so response is normally quicker lol.
Either way I am sure it will be a cheap quick fix mate as the guys say above!! Good luck and hope you stick with the club. Gav |
