i have a friend who has one and i get to see a lot of it, it's amazing what it can do fomr not a very big engine, and of course portal hubs mean massive ground clearance

down side, not much use for everyday transport and allways fixing it

Do they go wrong much

Just want it for play & play days & restoration plus a possible future investment

I think the reliability is age related, old things go wrong more often (generaly speaking) but with alll the hydraulics and unusual parts it can be a bit of a pain. He has his own mobile mechanic in a fully equipped sprinter on call 24/7 for his repairs, so cost is not an problem and he does give it some stick!

I would only consider it if you can easily afford it as otherwise you might be buying a 'hole in your pocket' spend your money one somthing more practical.

It is very tempting though

If i do get it & it is a BIG IF
Would you leave or remove the hydraulics

The only thing that is going for me is I've talked to me boss about it & he would go 1/2's on

But I've still gotta find a fair bit of dosh

I supose it depends what you want to use ot for, and waht stuff is powered hydraulicaly. If they work i'd leave them put in the hope of finding another monster winch. Or being able to use it for other stuff, you could put it to work, if you found some equipment for it

Well the ideas I've got for me is before restoring it, go to me 2 local Pay'n'Play sites
Then give it some TLC & sell it on at profit
Or
I suppose i could locate another winch, hedge cutter & chipper & hire it out
