Default Insurance.....

As you know, i had an insurance problem.

For them that dont know, I did! (Long Story, check my other posts)

However, you know how i said i was going to join Admiral on a multicar policy as they dont see bike accidents as car accidents, i contacted them today to set it up, the cost of the Mav had gone up from £380 to £387 in a week, the guy i spoke to checked the policy to see if i had changed anything by accident. NO!

Hold on he tells me, let me see if i can do anything with it, came back and said, i can get it you down to £257 is that OK , I only wanted the extra £7 knocking off.

Its true about the mods to the car though, you have to tell them about EVERYTHING you do to it. Although it does not mean the policy will go up, they just need to know.

As they say, everything happens for a reason, this time last week i was gutted i got the insurance cancelled, this week im £130 better off.

Thanks Admiral

Be aware that with Admiral although they may choose not to alter the cost of your policy, they WILL charge you an admin fee for EVERY little thing.
If you do have any mods etc, may be best to tell them all in one go, otherwise its an admin fee for each call.

Cost me about 17 quid just to change my address!

Im not planning to change anything on it to be honest, but if i do it will be removeable in the even on a claim. At the end of the day you get what you payfor and they all try to get out of paying if they can. i dont think i would make a claim on the truck even if it got nicked, id sooner keep my costs down.

Im saving £130 though so ive got £130 woth of admin charges before i start moaning about them,

Ontop of that, im back on the road with it and can shop around for better deals for next year.

That is not a wise move. There are numerous situations where you cannot or will not be allowed near your vehicle.

The most obvious is if its stolen recovered,or if youre in the back of the ambulance with a sprained ankle and recovery is underway in your absence.

If they catch you out on that youre driving without ANY insurance. You will get hammered for motoring and criminal offences.

Afterwards no one will ever touch you again for insurance unless its £25 3rd party on a 50cc ped.

Its just not worth it

Ive posted almost the identical comments regarding them so its not just me moaning about them. I agree 100% with your advice on Admiral....................get em in on reasonable costs then have em over at every chance seems to be their principle.

yes, i see your point Daved.

But to be honest, im not planning on doing anything to it. it will stay as it is now, if i do add anything then i will tell them but make sure its all at the same time.

Next year i may shop around a bit more, but its cos its a second car for me that i have the problem, i sent Frank Pickles an email for a quote yesterday and im still waiting for him to get back to me.
