I was over there a few weeks ago, loads of those setups knocking about. You can hire them.
I was in a campervan which was a bit less adventurous, but fantastic trip all the same.
Saw one 4x4 that had a military looking trailer tent. Had a special frame that swung the boat up and top of the trailer.

so ok, who has a mobile caravan?
i was thinking about getting one later on in the year when funds have accumulated and i have talk the missus around lol
are there any pitfalls to owning a caravan?

We have 3 caravans and wouldn't be without one, i can't see any real pitfalls. I must admit it's better if you've got somehwere to keep it thogh and don't have to fork out for storage.

my old Buccaneer is doing pretty well, 32 years old

but you wouldn't want to tow it across the outback, it would play havoc with the cut glass and china

and at 2.6 tons it would give the toyotas clutch dome stich over those bumps

im dreading going down to the static caravan in norfolk in march .... fills me with dread thinking what could have happened with the recent temps even tho the services have been disconnected ..... they get connected in march
