ahhhh...............

depends on the area for the 34/35 argument. In some areas you will get prosecuted for 35 and if you were convicted, youd have costs for both sides

I dont know why you were cleared. I can only guess they were working on the 10% + 2mph

As for the 14 days, the NIP/conditional offer must be SENT OUT by the authorities within 14 days. Statement of posting is held to be acceptable as it being served. As far as having to receive it within 14 days that is myth. Circumstances have occurred where a driver has never received the letter at all and the first they knew was a recorded delivery follow up or summons and the prosecution has proceeded.

Just be wary of advice you follow

Exclamation Course on speed awareness

Hi Briggie,

If you go for the course then there are no point (aka endorsements) on your licence though it is still a disclosable offence for insurance purposes.
One of the Girls at work attended a speed awareness course in Notts and to her credit she says it has changed her driving completely though the course fee was extra in Notts.

My seminal moment came in 1986/7 when I was still a serving officer and attended a fatal accident in Somercoates where a 3 year old boy was killed in an Road Traffic Collision involving a skip lorry.

The driver was blameless as were the parents and it made me very aware of how deadly a vehicle is even when driven lawfully. It was almost 2 hours before we traced the parents and the initial identification was based on a description of the boy who was wearing a Thomas the Tank Engine T-shirt.

Since that day I have very rarely exceeded the speed limit on any road other than a motorway . Knocking on the door of a complete stranger to tell them their son who they had reported missing has been killed in an accident somehow stays with you and saving a few minutes on a jouney is somehow pointless.

I am not trying to preach about the dangers of speeding just sharing an experience that has stayed with me all these years.

I think they believe that some people are beyond help..

I wonder if you are caught speeding off road, they will put you on a 4x4 training course.
