newbie alert
Hi there.
Looking for a 4x4 to tow the caravan with. maybe a bit of light off-road, nothing serious. Torreno 2 has come up on the radar, are there any buyer guides, or things to look out for, looking at oil burners for the moment. Many thanks Mark |

Why???
The best tow cars I have had have been Automatic. You just have to get the right one.. ie ones with fluid coolers for the transmission fluid. If you don't need 4x4 I had a 2.5D Vauxhall Omega that towed a 18.5ft twin axel Bailey Senator up 1 in 3 for 2 miles no problems! That was FULLY loaded all the gear 2 adults 3 kids 4 dogs roof box etc etc Those were the days!! Then came the audi A6 2.4 Petrol not as good a tow car as the Omega!! But un hitch the tin box and by ek does it shift!!! But not as good on fuel as the troll....!!! |

Just to help me a bit......
Any rust spots/areas to look out for? Engine/gearbox, any weak points to be aware of? Electrical gremlins? 2.7 or 3.0 diesel? Cheers Mark |
