Ok, so as a rough guestimate, how much would the following cost to have done?

Full service
Brakes (pads and discs)
2 x Tyres
MOT
Tax (gonna be £245)

Just so I have some ammo when I call them back.

Cheers

That europarts website is pretty informative, makes the decision process a hell of alot easier know I can get cheap parts online etc...I like it

Well, either way, parts are relatively inexpensive which makes the thought of owning a Terrano II more appealing, that and putting veggie oil through the 2.7....well I seem to be even seeling the idea to myself..lol

Thanks, but I need a LWB, dog and young son amoungst other things. I have two to choose from, the P reg 1997 that's advertised for £1500 but am gonna offer £1000, but I won't be doing anything until I've seen the 2002 3.0 SVE I've got coming my way for possibly £3500, think my mind is made up, just want to look at all options before buying.

Had two and a half years of worry motoring with the vectra, so am being extra cautious this time.

Trouble is you can hardly ever second guess the MOT costs
Could be a stack of welding for example
It needs to be cheap as its only a month left on it OR as I say get them to put mot on it or at least get you the fail sheet if it blows it
Dont forget CASH is king, so if you get the horn for the 3.0 stick 3000 in one pocket and hide the rest. Then when all negotiations have not gone your way, pull out your wad Wave 3000 in his face for a quick deal
Then be hard, walk away if he refuses, he'll ring you later

Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying, MOT could be expensive even if she's owned it for the past 9 years. Still fancy a challenge though, but how much of a challenge the old one's gonna present is an open-ended question!!

Have yet to see the newer one, but being a 3.0 already puts me off for some reason, think I prefer something older so I can do what I like withit without worrying about value.

Done 800 odd miles this weekend driving round the country and I can count the number of Terrano's I saw on the road with one hand!! Loads of X-Trails etc, but incredibly very few Terrano's!

3 litres are good from all accounts . and 30+ mpg is pretty good for a 4x4.... but for me id buy it and tidy it up mot it and make a bit of dosh on it ... there is room for an easy grand there . it'll look better in your pocket than someone Else's

put the money into a 2.7 tdi... if your not in a rush you will get a tdi for a grand needing some tidying and all of a sudden your driving around for free. even better when your running on veg oil too
