Right, been informed that the 3.0 model will only run on 50:50 bio:diesel mix at the most, no veggy at all, but seeing as it does more mpg than the 2.7 then it all probably evens out cost wise I would have thought.
Still gonna have a look at it when it comes in, nothing ventured, nothing gained! |

BioDiesel can be made at home from veggie oil, load of messing about, maybe worth looking at a later 2.7, slow note the ROAD TAX..

I thought being a 2002 model, the tax would be around the £245 mark, or has salesman told me wrong??
Anything will do really, so long as it's comfortable, reliable, fairly cheap to run and won't break the bank! The more I look the more things don't seem that simple after all! |

My 2005 2.7 is £245 for twelve months, or £138 (?) for six months.

Yep, checked Parkers and it's £245/annum from April 2010, which is what the Vectra has increased to anyway, so both seem to linked road tax wise...better than £400 odd for the newer vehicles

One other thing that I've come accross, is the 3.0 a straight 4 cyl engine or a V6? From what I've read etc it's a straight 4, but still wonder.

i cant see the problem . buy a 02-04 plate 2.7 for around 3.5k . and put the change in the bank . then run it on veg oil all the time. cant see the problem myself ... trouble free motoring and running on next to nothing. or get the 3 litre mot it clean it up ... sell it .... then do as instructed above |

Right, I can understand now why there's so much more about the 2.7 than there is about the 3.0!
Cheers for your advice though |
