Default to chat or not to chat ... thats the question

ok well since Neddy made his big announcement about who's talking and who's not. and he's leaving etc

its become clear that some members think its not right to use this club for chat and pointless banter as it clog's the site up with junk,

often threads start of with a serious note then evolve into banter but i guess that's just the way it is

now i use the pub for most of my threads just because i do most are quick questions, so not worth clogging up the technical space

some are funny and some are not

but in my opinion if people want to chat and have fun in the pub area, why not its not harming anyone and if its not your thing dont use the pub

now i dont drink so i dont use real pub's . but i dont say you should close all pubs just cos i dont drink or use pubs

your welcome to have your say and hope bats going to join in too .

after all its his club

Just my opinion but if you start a chatty thread then its for chatting fair enough.

But some posts are started asking a question etc then just go to mush as some members pop on and go straight off topic and start talkin drivel.

Some times it can take a few pages to get back on track.

Use the pub for chatting posts etc but have respect for others posts and keep to topic.

Hope that makes sence

Thats what I was trying to say before.

Personally don't mind at all if a thread starts on one tech subject and evolves into another tech subject, a mod can always change the title to reflect it anyway, but chatter about how many posts people have ade in the mddle of it all (as an example) is a pain in the arris
