Just joined today, recently bought a 1989 Patrol 3.3 turbo. In good condition generally, but has a few things that need doing, i.e. tick over is too high, check cable and its adjusted as far as it can go. Any ideas what else I can try? Cheers

Do not know about the 3.3 but my 2.8 is a mechanical pump as is yours if it has a cable, if so then the throttle arm will have two adjusting screws, one for idling and one for max speed, the idling one is the one that the throttle arm is resting on at rest, this is the one to adjust, undo the locking nut and turn it anti clock wise gently until the idle is where you want it, do not forget to nip the lock nut up again, there are other possibilities however that it would be best to check first, you may or may not have them depending on your setup, I am referring to the automatic rev increasing devices that are actuated by the power steering and air con, they could be stuck in the hi position, Rick

Solarman216 - I have adjusted the stops, and to be honest I didn't think about the auto rev. I'm new to these engines, so learning lol. Will have a look and see if there is such a device.

Milners is not far away from me
