Lit up the day.
The truck I was driving today decided it wanted flames down the near side. But a blast of white powder sorts it all out.

HGV systems that I dealt with in the 70's often relied on air pressure to hold the brakes "off" lack of air meant brakes came on,(spring brake chambers) but what modern trucks use I have no idea, Rick

Same now you still have to wait till pressure builds up. You have alarms and flashing lights if low pressure as well as the gauge. |

The chambers I worked on had a coil spring that needed one tonne pressure to compress it coil bound, the coils were progressively smaller so compressed it was only around two coils thick, when first introduced there were a few bad accidents with guys stripping them out without the proper tools, although the spring was extended it was still under high pressure and would burst out causing serious injury, I used one as a quick jack for cars with an air line coupling on it, attach the line, slide it under the car release air line and up it would go, happy days, Rick
