In my experience, they only spray when the lights are on and they are activated by the windscreen wash/wiper stalk.

Not part of mot so one less worry. One of mine is missing and passed mot. As said I’m sure they spray when headlights are on and you operate the windscreen washer.

mmmh......I replaced a duff windscreen washer pump.....a Renault/Quashqai part......now works a treat.........

I will shortly replace the 2nd pump for lights, but need to unblock the bunged up passenger side jet........do they pull off without too much trauma and damage.....???

I had a leak from driverside jet, tried to pull pipe off and it fell apart so be careful. They’re held in by a metal horseshoe type circlip from below. Might need to remove bumper if you want to remove the jet.

Removed mine.
Nice cover caps over the holes and spray painted in. Job done.
The old wipers on the previous model made more sense than these duff spray jets.

I got the wipers and doubt very much if I will ever use them, waste of space as far as I am concerned, Rick
