Speeding women drivers...

So, Suz's car is off the road, as it needs some of the usual welding at the end of the rear sills, and rear wheel arch, and the MOT ran out a month ago.

Suz's works in Leatherhead, which is a 30mile journey round the M25 during the morning rush hour, so is normally when she drives to work in her car, it's a good hour, to an hour and a quarter run. When she gets to work, she sends me a text to let me know she has arrived safely.

For the last couple of weeks, since we got back from holiday, she has been using my car to drive to work, and she has been getting to work in 45mins, and one day did it in half an hour!!!!

This morning, we were talking about driving, and she said, "Your car is dangerous!"... "What?" says I, a man who is proud of the fact that my car should be one of the safest on the road. She says, "I keep finding that a car is in the way, so I go a bit faster to get past it, then there is another, so I go a bit faster, next thing I know, your car is cruising comfortably at 77MPH, where as mine likes to sit at only 60MPH and I have to push it to go faster, so you car will get me caught for speeding".

I did mention the rather fast arrival times she has been getting to work in, but apparently that's nothing to do with speeding, it's just the traffic has been kind!!! Yeah Right...

I completely agree with her. When driving the truck, I'm more than happy to let the traffic whizz by, content that my licence is safe. Put me in the Audi and I'll happily sit in the outside lane at 70(ish) mph with the big boys.

I drive my tractor very sedately........most of the time.......but I have to say that it can get up to it's near max in quite a nifty fashion.

Having just done over 1200 miles in 3 weeks, to S Wales, and back here to home in France, she performed admirably, both on smaller roads and peage. Cruising at 70/80 mph, with relatively (to a sports type car !!!!) swift acceleration, to overtake, and returning consistently 30 mpg.......with comfort.......what a car......

Ahhh.. now there is the problem, maybe I should have mentioned, My car is a body and suspension lifted 1999 T2, Suz's car is a pretty standard 2002 T2. Hers is the slightly higher spec, with heated seats, but apart from that, they are pretty much identical.

Bosch or zexel? Might wanna have a look at it, sounds a but sluggish.

Bosch, same as mine... I am not looking at it, she needs to keep her licence..

It's strange, hers is a lot more nippy than mine, pulls away a dream, but seems to peak at about 65...

Mine is also Bosch, I think the IP is on it's way out, much slower to pick up, but once it stars to climb, it just keeps going, even with the caravan on the back.

Mine likes to creep, without realising it I'll be doing 80, used to be a bit slugish on take off but ok now, i reckon you have a tired maf!!

Could be, I think it's the original, although when I fitted the MAF amp I was having "limp mode" issues, and when I talked to Ray, he said the unamplified output from mine was the highest he had ever seen. Maybe it's time to tweak the amp a bit, see what happens.

i find in the 3l it wants to run away easer than both my 2.7tdi but they are no slouch,my son in law is using the blue one and it surprised him the take off

The digimafam I have did the same, I have a different maf now though cos I killed mine and that sexy gorgeous handsome Yorkshire bloke bigbunny2007 sold me a used one he had so I'm gonna try it again.
