Actually Jim, there's a part that a half moon shaped place where erosion of rust made. So there's a gap where the rain/dirt goes in. Until I've got a repair properly, I was thinking to use this;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hammerite-5...dp/B004Z4UMUA/ then touch paint it to cover at least. As for noise, they showed me the steering stops and put some grease on it on both side. Then the garage's owner drove it and told be about shaft so yeah, I'd need to make sure if this is the case. I will go out shortly for night supermarket shopping, so will try the full lock. Wonder if I can record? |

Thanks, Banshee, wow, sounds like this is a big deal. Thought I can easily replace this with my Sony, but will research first. Shame I don't usually use cassette tapes/CDs anymore.

Hey Zehyr,
Check this link out...I fitted this in a homemade facia plate, that incorporated a hazard switch...also from fleabay. You need the appropriate wiring harness ISO to DIN (or is it otherway around ) anyway, you need to keep the NATS system happy, so everything sitting to hand before you take out the old unit..... Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331770132022 Good luck....great trucks...mine is a workhorse that scrubs up nicely as a family car...... |

Had a thought about your noise, your truck was around the changer over between auto locking front hubs and fixed hubs. Look under the silver coloured covers in the centre of the front wheels. If you have auto locking hubs the actual hub will almost fill the space under the silver plastic cover, the hub is held with approx 5 or 6 alan bolts (hex key). If you have fixed hubs the actual metal hub is a very small hub held with nuts on to short studs.
If you have auto locking hubs then your front drive shafts should not be turning with the wheels so therefore should not be making any noises. If you have the fixed hubs then yes the drive shafts would be turned by the wheels and could make noise if faulty. If you are unsure about your hubs take a photo and post on here. |

Hi Jim, will have a look tomorrow or later as I will be out for a day.
I found it did make a sound only when I turn left in full. It's like loud "GA GA". Might be latter on your suggestion? |

As for beeps, I found the reason - it's radio showing some kind of error which I can read as the lcd is worn out and letters are not displayed. It says something like "No t**** *** ***".
Hi mate, Do you have any Radio stations on the Pre Set. Could the LCD screen be reading "No Traffic Pre Set". I can't find my manual but know these radios had the ability to record and play back traffic news and also change radio stations automatically for traffic news. Try pressing the TA button on the Radio to turn it off. The LCD screen can improve a little in hot weather or when the car interior gets warm Good luck. |

Hi Thomas, you are right. It must be this one. The problem is that it's hardly readable on LCD and not sure how to set. I'm still considering to replace this kit and only problem is a hazard light which needs to be controlled by a new radio I would put in, though don't know how I can find out, for instance, if my Sony MEX-N4000BT would do the job.

If you do a search on here there are one or two threads regarding the radio and hazard light switch.
You often see kits on ebay with a replacement switch and a surround panel (facia). These look good and indeed the very late Terranos have exactly the same panel and switch. May be you could get a later model panel and switch, think it's about 54 plate onwards, certainly my 05 plate had this setup. One or two people on here have made their own panel and I think they used a switch from a Nissan Primera P11 model. I know that I have seen one thread a year or two ago with photos and write up but can't remember who it was. |

Hi mate,
As said other people have successfully changed there radios. Some people have made there own single DIN facia to fill the space in the dash. You can buy a proper facia plate (costs though) with hole for separate hazard switch. The two links are for the facia plate and the now discontinued (from this site) hazard switch but does quote Nissan part number.Never used the site but good for an example. https://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=3946 https://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=2886 Not sure what connecters are needed for radio and switch but as said by others it is possible just needs a little research. |

Checkout these links to threads on here about the radio, even found a thread about bleeping but not sure if it's the same as yours.

A lot of reading but some good advice contained in them. |

I seem to remember someone using a plastic chopping board to make a fascia? Cheap and worked well. |
